Deers and the Drummers

There must be about hundreds of parks in Delhi... i must say I haven't been to many but i do the to be I love the must and have been to the most the Deer Park in Safdarjung enclave.
Some Sundays there is a congregation of drummers at the park, when and what time they will meet is an insider info.. its absolutely word of mouth .. and its  an eclectic mix of tourists, students, office goers and musicians some professional some semi-professional most are hobby drummers.. They all come together and play as one and it is awesome to experience. They say music is a powerful thing and they kid you not because only the sound of drums and happy people and you will feel your feet tapping. You will see alot of the people join in and dance some will also try their hands on the drums if the owners are willing which usually they are.. As the sound of drums vibrates more and people in the park join in and you will see everyone mesmerized in the sheer power of music with no words just pure, raw and unedited music.

Notice the monkey hanging from the home-made drum set... absolutely precious!!!

PS:- I know the photos are not all that great because I couldn't get good pictures (remember I am 5" ;-)) hehe) lots of crowd ... promise next time I will go prepared and get better photos maybe take a stool along to stand on lol!!

Hey Delhi!!

Hi all!!

This is Ashmita... I moved to the city of hearts Delhi a year ago to start working again... Over the past year i have had many adventures and tons of fun exploring this wonderful city.
Delhi is the ultimate mish-mash of old and new and everywhere you go you will see the co-existence of the era gone by with modern sprinkles on top just like a big sundae... From food to architecture from old relic stores to malls from kebabs from the tandoor to steaming momos on the corner of the street..
So, here you will find me exploring this wonderful Old & New city and see it from my eyes ... armed with my camera and my restless toes I will go exploring all the wonderful bounties this city has to offer from theater to food from film festivals and carnivals to street shows, from  cool workshops to insane parties...so, I invite you all to join me on my journey ... and see Delhi in a different color ..
